Writer Laurel Durham resides in Phoenix, Arizona. She is a retired string orchestra director, plays the violin, and has extensive experience as an executive assistant. She started her own consulting business in 2011 to pursue a variety of lines of work designed to give back to others and to make her happy. Those include music education consulting, teaching private music lessons on and offline, virtual assistance to small businesses, placing foreign exchange students with host families in the Phoenix metro area, and volunteering in Christian mission work. She credits her parents for their entrepreneurial spirit and surrounds herself with positive people. Her motto is, "I choose to be happy," and inspires others to do the same.
